Sunriver Resort, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved destination resorts, has unveiled a multi-million-dollar reimagination of The Spa at Sunriver Resort, introducing a refreshed design, new treatment menu, and expanded wellness programming across its 3,300-acre setting near Bend, Oregon.
The reopening marks a new chapter for the resort’s wellness experience, blending spa therapies, outdoor movement, restorative rituals, and in-room wellness amenities inspired by Central Oregon’s high desert landscape.
The Spa’s new menu was developed in partnership with Dr. Dennis Gross, Naturopathica, and Epionce, bringing together clinical skincare, botanical wellness, and place-based treatments. Signature experiences include the Arnica & Birch Deep Tissue Massage, designed for recovery after time on the trails, river, or bike; the River Detox Cocoon, a warming body wrap inspired by the region’s waterways; and Floating Yoga & Sound Healing, an outdoor experience combining gentle movement and meditative sound beneath the open sky.
“The Spa at Sunriver Resort’s reimagination reflects how we’ve always thought about wellness here, it starts with the outdoors,” said Tom O’Shea, managing director at Sunriver Resort. “The forest, the river, the trails, the night sky, guests feel it the moment they arrive. The Spa carries that experience indoors, with new treatments and year-round programming inspired by our landscape.”
Wellness at Sunriver Resort extends far beyond the treatment room. Since opening in 1968, the resort has been shaped by its natural surroundings: ponderosa pine forests, the Deschutes River, volcanic mountain views, more than 40 miles of paved trails, and some of the darkest night skies in the Pacific Northwest.
That landscape now informs a year-round calendar of seasonal wellness experiences, including snowshoe forest bathing in winter, SUP Yoga on the river in summer, full moon yoga and sound healing, and chakra meditation beneath the Perseid meteor shower. The programming reflects the resort’s belief that meaningful wellness is shaped by place, season, and time outdoors.
Guests staying in the resort’s River Lodge can also request complimentary in-room wellness collections, including a Yoga Collection with a mat, strap, and guided yoga cards; a Stretch Collection with a foam roller and stretch band; a Strength Collection with a mat and resistance bands; and a Meditation Collection with a cushion, mat, and affirmation cards.
With its reimagined spa, expanded programming, and deep connection to the Central Oregon landscape, Sunriver Resort is positioning wellness as an essential part of the guest experience, inviting travelers to move, recover, rest, and reconnect in one of the West’s most scenic resort settings.
